OpenMarket

OpenMarket Inc. is a global company that provides Saas-based mobile messaging solutions to enterprises, including global one-way and two-way SMS, MMS, push notifications, short codes and virtual mobile numbers. OpenMarket began operations in 2006, and in June 2006 was acquired by Amdocs, Inc. The company is headquartered in Seattle, Washington, USA, with offices in Detroit, London, Sydney, and Pune.
==History==

OpenMarket began as part of Qpass, a technology company that specialized in providing the infrastructure for electronic payments. In February 2006, Qpass acquired Simplewire, a provider of mobile messaging, payments and other services, which began operations in 2001. In June 2006, Amdocs, Inc. acquired Qpass and separated the company into two divisions. OpenMarket became the division focused on enterprise mobile services. Later in June 2006, OpenMarket launched OpenMarket Exchange, a web-based system that enabled media companies and service providers to process direct-to-consumer mobile transactions.
On March 23, 2010, at the International CTIA Wireless conference, Amdocs announced the acquisition of MX Telecom, a London-based mobile messaging and payments aggregator for approximately $104 million. Amdocs acquired MX Telecom with the aim of expanding the OpenMarket business into new international markets with its CMX2 platform. In May 2010, OpenMarket announced enhancements to the CMX2 product, now known as the OpenMarket Mobile Engagement Platform, including MMS capabilities that allow companies to distribute rich media content directly to consumers. In October 2010, OpenMarket announced a new mobile payment service which allows companies to sell and market their goods and services to consumers via the mobile channel .
In September 2011, OpenMarket was featured on ''Mobile Future Forward'' in Seattle, discussing the topic of mobile payments among teens, together with other executives from Google, Walmart, amd T-Mobile USA.
In May 2012, the company launched Push Notification services, enabling businesses to engage and interact with both consumers and their smart phone-based applications . In August 2012, OpenMarket supported the introduction of Payforit 4, which allows consumers to pay for goods and services on their mobile devices by charging the payment back to their mobile bills . This service is now widely used, particularly in the charity sector to process mobile payments for fundraising campaigns.
In 2013, OpenMarket introduced SMS-based two-factor authentication (2FA) via its Mobile Engagement Platform. By utilizing the OpenMarket’s 2FA solution CIOs and other IT decision-makers can leverage out-of-band authentication via mobile devices to provide secure access, consumer identity protection and fraud prevention.
