Opendium is a private company that develops, sells and supports cost effective〔( Product price list )〕 Internet content control and auditing, network security, firewalling, anti-spam and anti-virus systems, primarily for schools.〔( Company product page )〕 The company also offers network design consultancy and voice over IP telephony systems. Their product development strategies have involved working closely with notable independent British schools, such as Sherborne School and King's School, Bruton as well as state funded schools and academies. Opendium's focus is on giving schools extensive reporting and auditing capabilities, providing them with information that can be fed back into the students' education and allowing a more relaxed attitude to filtering. ==History== 2005 - Colleagues Harry Mills and Steve Hill founded the company after realising that there was a need for suppliers to work more closely with schools to support and develop solutions in partnership with them, having worked together on Internet filtering and network security products at Navaho Technologies for the preceding five years. 2008 - Having worked for the company part-time since its formation, Steve Hill began working for the expanding company on a full-time basis. 2010 - Opendium released their first complete content control product called Iceni. Iceni provided email and web filtering.
