Optimax is a UK-based laser eye treatment specialist which has 38 locations nationwide. Optimax was established as one of the first private clinics to offer laser eye surgery. Laser eye surgery in the UK is dominated by three main companies Optical Express, Ultralase and Optimax which, in total, account for approximately 56% of clinics in the UK. ==History== Optimax was founded by Russell Ambrose in 1991 and he became the very first patient to receive treatment at Optimax. Eleven years later, in 2002, Optimax performed their 100,000th laser eye surgery procedure. Nowadays, Optimax operates optical care clinics throughout the UK and has used laser eye surgery to correct the minor visual impairments of around 350,000 patients. Optimax were the first company to introduce Femtosecond laser, IntraLASIK and Schwind lasers.
