Ormea is a ''comune'' (municipality) in the Province of Cuneo in the Italian region Piedmont, located about south of Turin and about southeast of Cuneo. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 1,904 and an area of .〔All demographics and other statistics: Italian statistical institute Istat.〕 The municipality of Ormea contains the ''frazioni'' (subdivisions, mainly villages and hamlets) Viozene, Chionea, Ponte di Nava, Bossieta, Prale, Barchi, Eca, Albra, Villaro, Valdarmella, Chioraira, and Quarzina.
