Osseriates or Oseriates was the name of a town〔The Cambridge Ancient History, Vol. 10: The Augustan Empire, 43 BC-AD 69 (Volume 10) by Alan Bowman, Edward Champlin, and Andrew Lintott, 1996, page 579,〕 in Roman Pannonia. It also was the name of an Illyrian tribe〔A History of Ancient Greek: From the Beginnings to Late Antiquity by A.-F. Christidis, 2007, page 746, "... into sibilants in some words: cf. IE *agher- "lake" > Oseriates "name of an Illyrian tribe," a develop- ment which is ..."〕 of Pannonians.
