OzSpy is an Australian franchise chain specialising in electronic security. OzSpy has 10 stores throughout Australia, particularly in capital cities. In 2014, OzSpy was the largest electronic security franchise chain in the country. == History == OzSpy started with a single store in Brisbane in 1998 and was an immediate success. It was the first store in Australia to make available to the general public surveillance devices of the type previously used only by the military, law enforcement and private investigators. In 2003 OzSpy was franchised and has had a slow and steady growth, the group now has 10 stores and continues to expand by franchising the business model throughout Australia. The franchise administration office and warehouse is located on Queensland’s Gold Coast. In 2007 OzSpy expanded to New Zealand and soon after withdrew from New Zealand primarily due to lack of sales and distribution issues. OzSpy founders Craig Mitchell and John Vlamis initially based the concept on Spy Shops commonly found in the United States, and adapted it to suit the Australian market.
