Padmarani
Padmarani ((グジャラート語:પદ્મારાણી), Marathi: पद्माराणी), also known as Padma Rani, is a veteran actor appearing in a large number of Gujarati films Gujarati plays, and some Bollywood films too. She is more passionate towards the stage and has acted in many Gujarati plays.
==Birth and Personal life==
Padmarani was born in a middle class Marathi family in Pune, though she grew up in Vadodara. Her father, Bhimrao Bhosle, was a barrister and mother, Kamlabai Rane, was from Goa. She began acting on at a very young age, along with her sister Sarita Joshi, due to financial problems that her family found itself in. She is often confused with her sister, who is also a renowned actress.
She married into a Parsi family at the tender age of 18, when she married renowned zamindar, Namdar Irani, who later became a director of plays and dramas. She married young because she fell in love with Namdar, and at that age, they felt it was the right thing to do. She was a Maharashtrian, with Marathi as her mother tongue, while Namdar was a Parsi whose mother tongue was Gujarati. This meant she was fluent in both languages, and could act in films and plays in either of them. Together, they have a daughter, Daisy Irani, who is also an actress. Daisy settled in Singapore after her marriage.
She is great friends with actor Arvind Rathod, a reputed Gujarati actor, with whom she has acted in numerous plays, including ''Baa Retire Thai Chhe''.
