Pakyong ((ネパール語: पाक्किम)) is a town in the East Sikkim district of the Indian state of Sikkim located in the foothills of the Himalayas. The small town is also Sub Division of East District and holds many government offices. Pakyong used to be a small settlement until the central government approved a new greenfield airport to be constructed by Punj Lloyd.〔http://www.punjllyod.com.htm〕 The town has a missionary run school called St. Xavier's,〔http://zaverian.com/home.htm St Xavier's School〕 which ranked as one of the top two schools in Sikkim during the 1990s. Notable among its alumni are the Padmashri awardee footballer Baichung Bhutia. Another prominent alumni is Anil Kumar Yadav, who was School Captain in 1983-84 and topped the ICSE Examination in 1984. Currently working as Deputy General Manager at the Reserve Bank of India, he was recently ranked third "Top Academic Person" in the World by a website ( http://www.webclassy.com/news-item/the-top-4-most-academic-people-in-the-world/ ), as currently he holds 42 degrees/diplomas/certificates. Recently Mr Anil Kumar Yadav entered the "India Book of Records" for "Most Post Graduate Degrees Honoured by Different Universities". The "National Research Centre for Orchids", (ICAR Institute) is also located in the town.〔http://www.sikkim.nic.in/nrco.htm〕 == History == Not much is known about the historical past of this little town. But the existence of old British bunkers at British Killa suggest the presence of armed bunkers sometime in the past. 抄文引用元・出典: フリー百科事典『 ウィキペディア(Wikipedia)』 ■ウィキペディアで「Pakyong」の詳細全文を読む スポンサード リンク
