Panker is a municipality in Plön county, Schleswig-Holstein, Germany. The municipality of Panker includes the villages ''Darry'', ''Gadendorf'', ''Matzwitz'', ''Satjendorf'', ''Todendorf'' and Panker estate. The nearest city is Luetjenburg. Panker first got mentioned in 1433 as "Pankuren", which is a Slavic name. ==Panker Estate== The first owners of this estate was the Rantzau family, an old nobility, before it was sold to Frederick I, Lord of Hesse and King of Sweden, in 1739. Frederick I gave this and some other estates to his misbegotten sons, hence they became Lords of ''Hessenstein''. Occupants include Prince Frederik of Hesse, who died here in 1845. The estate, which is located on the Baltic Sea, arose around that time, the villa was built around 1800. It belongs to the ''Hessian House Foundation''.
