Pardeshi
Pardeshi is a surname of Hindi origin. It is used in the Rajputs and the rajak/kannaujia communities, and it is fairly common in certain areas, such as Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, and Rajasthan. ==Origin== A Pardeshi, in Hindi, is a person who does not belong to the local place or region and/or comes from a distance. The term became a surname when the Rajputs in Rajasthan came to Maharashtra to protect Yadavas of Deogiri from invading powers. Many of them made inroads into adjoining states, including Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh. While doing so, native people called them as 'pardeshi' as time passed, they became fully integrated into the settled and never went back, and others who retained to their mother tongue, Hindi. Pardeshis are widely spread into Kusumba a village in Dhule district, Aurangabad, Vidarbha region, Jalgaon ( Pachora & Chalisgaon ) & Indore, Jabalpur, Pune districts of Maharashtra. They worship Govardhan on Diwali.
