Passerano Marmorito is a small rural ''comune'' (‘commune’ or ‘municipality’) in the Province of Asti in the Italian region Piedmont, located about east of Turin and about northwest of Asti. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 454 and an area of .〔All demographics and other statistics: Italian statistical institute Istat.〕
==Geography==
The ''capoluogo'' of the commune, and the site of its town hall, is Passerano. The ''statuto comunale'' identifies three further villages or hamlets within the boundaries of the commune: Marmorito, Primeglio and Schierano (after which the wine grape Malvasia di Schierano is named).
