Peniaphobia Peniaphobia is a fear of falling into poverty, or going deeper into poverty. A reason for its irrational nature is there are some individuals for whom the possibility of poverty is very unlikely, yet they feared it anyway. A situation where such a scenario was said to have occurred was with Hetty Green who was extremely wealthy, yet spent her wealth in a manner that exhibited extreme levels of asceticism.〔http://www.qualityliferesources.com/money/even-irrational-fears-are-not-recession-proof/〕 An individual who has this condition is called a peniaphobe.〔https://www.washingtonpost.com/entertainment/style-invitational-week-1090-talk-undirty-to-us-in-a-poem-with-a-rude-sounding-word/2014/09/18/4908fc58-3d4f-11e4-b0ea-8141703bbf6f_story.html〕 ==See also==
