Pentawards
The Pentawards〔http://www.pentawards.org/〕 are prizes which have been presented every year since 2007 to recognize excellence in creative packaging worldwide. The competition is devoted to packaging design already available on the market and to packaging concepts that are as yet neither produced nor marketed. Participants include designers, design agencies, communication agencies, brands, packaging manufacturers and design students. These distinctions are awarded in multiple categories so that all sectors and markets can participate and be showcased. Five major categories, each with many sub categories, encompass all markets: beverages, food, body products, other markets, and luxury. == History ==
The Pentawards were created by Jean Jacques Evrard (1950) and Brigitte Evrard-Lauwereins (1951), both with degrees in design. Together, they created and directed a design agency which joined Carré Noir from 1994 to 1998 and subsequently the Desgrippes Gobé group. At the end of 2006, they left their agency in order to run Pentawards full-time and independently. The purpose of Pentawards is to promote packaging design art globally. The head office of Pentawards is located in Brussels (Belgium).
