Penuballi
Penuballi ((テルグ語:పెనుబల్లి)) is a ''mandal'' in the Khammam district of Telangana, India. It is the headquarters of Penuballi Mandal. The population of Penuballi mandal was 52,841 at the 2011 Indian census, while the population of Penuballi village was 8,915. ==History== Penuballi is a small village in Khammam district where the former chief minister, Jalagam Vengala Rao was born. Jalagam Vengala Rao married a local village girl named Veluguleti Mangaima. He has two sons named Jalagam Prasad Rao and Jalagam Venkat Rao. Formerly Jalagam Prasad Rao played a crucial role in the district's politics. At present his younger son Venkat plays a crucial role as parliamentary secretary in the cabinet of Kalavakuntla Chandra Sekhar Rao. Jalagam Vengalarao's sister's family lives there and his wife Mangaima's brother Veluguleti Pardasaradi Rao's family also resides in the village. Near this village are two historical places, located about 8 or 10 km away. One is Neeladri temple near Bhavannapalem village in deep forest, a famous Siva temple, which was built by the Kakatiya kings. Lakhs of people visits this temple on the day Mahasivarathri and conduct rituals and traditional things such as dramas and sevas, etc., the entire night. Water falls round the year from the hill beside the temple. It is a famous picnic spot for people on "karteeka masam". Another one is "Pallela bavi gattu" which was built by Kakatiyas in the deep forest. A long wall surrounds the hill which was built with big rocks at the height of almost 3000 feet.
