Perumpilavu is a village is located in north of Kunnamkulam in Thrissur district in the state of Kerala in India. In the 20th century, it used to be more known for its weekly cattle market. The cattle market was held till late 90's. The cattle market has now been shifted into a nearby place called Ottappilavu. Now 'Perumpilavu' has well known as an educational zone having plenty of schools, arts & science colleges, professional and training colleges. Some of the major educational institutions are Ansar English School, T M High School and L M U P School.Royal College of Engineering, PSM College of Dental Science, Vivekananda teachers training institute, Mar Osthatheos B.ed college, Ansar Nursing College, Ansar women's college, Ansar B.ed College etc. As a diversion point of the State highways of Kunnamkulam-Kozhikode and Kunnamkulam-Palakkad, 'Perumpilavu' has become a comfort station for travellers with plenty of family Restaurants, 24-hour fuel station,KR Hotel(3 star) and other amenities. Ansar Hospital is the Main Hospital of Perumpilavu. Parvakkunnu juma masjid is a Juma Masjid at perumpilavu and AlFurqan Juma Masjid (opp.fuel station) is the town Juma Masjid opposite Al-Khayyam petrol pump.
