Perumpillichira is a small village that comes under the Panchayat of Kumaramangalam in Idukki district in the Indian state of Kerala. The name ‘Perumpillichira’ comes from the name of a large water reservoir adjacent to a Hindu temple at the heart of the village. This temple is the center point of the village. Water from Perumpillichira reservoir flows to nearby paddy field throughout the year except in peak summer and it finally reaches the Thodupuzha river. This place is 70 km away from the largest city Cochin in the state of Kerala. Most of the villagers are involved in agriculture. The main crops are rice, coconut, natural rubber, coco, bananas, tapioca, ginger, and turmeric. Villagers raise cattle, goats, chickens and ducks as well. Perumpillichira Warier's Aarya Vaidyashaala is a famous Ayurvedic medical facility that provides traditional Ayurvedic medicine and physiotherapy.
