It has 29,327 inhabitants.

Pignon's territory includes the ''Sections Communales'' of Savanette and La Belle Mère. During the November 28, 2010 election, Mr. Hidson Nelson was reelected as the Deputy for Pignon, Lavictoire, and Ranquite for 5 years. As of 2010, Dioda B. Calixte is Principal Mayor, aided by ''Maire Adjoint'' Géoderme Desrosiers and ''Maire Adjoint'' Silton Laguerre.
