Playdium

Playdium (formerly Sega City Playdium) is a Canadian company which operates a large family entertainment centre in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada. Playdium Mississauga is owned by parent company Cineplex Entertainment.
==Summary==
A new addition to the company is The Playdium Store, which retails arcade games and various other home entertainment solutions.
The Playdium FEC is situated on a site spanning in Mississauga located directly across the street from Square One Shopping Centre. The main building is featuring more than 200 of the most popular games, amusement rides, and simulators. Recent major investments by the parent company have resulted in a revamped gaming floor with the newest technologies. A full-service diner is situated right on the gaming floor. The ''Baseball Dome'' operates year round and has nine variable-speed batting cages as well as four lanes of bowling. The outdoors include an Indy-Style go-kart race course spanning , an 18-hole Championship Greens Mini-Golf, and ''Water Wars''.
Arcade machines are outfitted with card readers (BLINKis), and barcoded "PlayCards" are used instead of coins or tokens. The card readers display the number of credits required to play. The average game requires six credits to play (the equivalent of $1.50 on a traditional coin-operated arcade machine). PlayCards can be charged with credits or they can be charged with TimePlay, meaning that all arcade games (with some exceptions) could be played within a certain length of time, typically two-hour or four-hour "Time Play Specials." To prevent abuse, PlayCards with TimePlay are "locked out" if used too soon after the last swipe and were not meant to be shared between players.
The company formerly operated a second location in downtown Toronto underneath the Scotiabank Theatre. It has been closed for many years, leaving only the Mississauga location.
