Ponteranica is a ''comune'' (municipality) in the Province of Bergamo in the Italian region of Lombardy, located about northeast of Milan and about northwest of Bergamo. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 6,866 and an area of .〔All demographics and other statistics: Italian statistical institute Istat.〕 Ponteranica borders the following municipalities: Alzano Lombardo, Bergamo, Ranica, Sorisole, Torre Boldone, Zogno. A part of is surfrace is occupied by Maresana Hill.
