The park is home to Glendale Lake a man-made lake. It has a large campground with campsites on the lake shore. Prince Gallitzin State Park was named in honor of Prince Demetrius Gallitzin, a Russian nobleman turned Roman Catholic missionary priest who founded the nearby town of Loretto.
