Professionshøjskole ((英語:professional college)) is the official Danish term for some specific higher education institutions in Denmark that offer profession specific tertiary education, also known as medium higher education (MVU) and diploma courses, but does not offer university education at postgraduate level. These courses are offered in professional schools, leading to a profession bachelor's degree. Some of these schools also offer individual short higher education (KVU). The concept is used differently in different countries. In the Anglo-Saxon education system the term tertiary education is applied to the education at this level, since it requires complete secondary education. In Sweden the term is "högskola" about the similar institutions. == University College in Denmark == The Danish Parliament passed a law in July 2007 on professionshøjskoler.
