Pszenno ((ドイツ語:Weizenrodau)) is a village in the administrative district of Gmina Świdnica, within Świdnica County, Lower Silesian Voivodeship, in south-western Poland. It is located approximately east of Świdnica, and south-west of the regional capital Wrocław. In 1243 the village was established in Lower Silesia with German Law under Johann Graf von Wuerben.〔(Weizenrodau established 1243 with German Law )〕 Since 1645, the Evangelical inhabitants of the town belonged to the ''Friedenskirche'' (Churches of Peace, (ポーランド語:Kościół Pokoju)) in nearby Schweidnitz and since 1741 to the (county) ''Landkreis Schweidnitz''. Until 1773 the Catholics belonged to the Jesuit Church of Schweidnitz. In 1874 the Weizenrodau ''Standesamtregister'' (civil registrary) was established. The German name Weizenrodau literally means ''wheat uprooting''. The ancestors of the Watzenrode family of Prussia based their family name on the village〔Eugeniusz Rybka, Przemysław Rybka, "Kopernik--człowiek i myśl", Wiedza Powszechna, 1972, pg. 150, ()〕 since this is where they originated. A sugar factory was established at Weizenrodau early in the 19th century.
