''Pudhari'' is a popular Marathi daily published from Maharashtra, Goa and North Karnataka.〔(Pudhari Head Office )〕〔(Pudhari e-Paper )〕 It is the leader in Western Maharashtra and third-largest Marathi newspaper daily in Maharashtra.〔()〕 Pudhari has different editions for major districts of Maharashtra namely Mumbai, Pune, Kolhapur, Sangli, Satara,Nasik, Solapur, Ahmadnagar, Ratnagiri, Sindhudurg, Belgaum & an edition for Goa state. It has weekly features like Bahar, Soneri, Vishwasanchar, Ankur, Kasturi, Career, Arogya and Bhoomiputra. It has given a platform to empower women through its women club "Kasturi" and at the same time also runs a kids club called "Ankur" to groom the tiny tots. Pudhari- Pudhari -TOMATO 94.3 FM is today the most popular radio station in the region broadcasting from 2 centers- Kolhapur and Sangli which covers the entire districts of Kolhapur, Sangli, Satara and prominent parts of Balgaum, Ratnagiri and Sindhudurga. Pudhari-Tomato 94.3 was launched by the nightingale, Swar smaradini of India "Lata Manageshkar". The web edition was launched on its portal site with the URL - www.pudhari.com. It has an event division called "Brigade" which successfully carries out reader connect activity throughout the year. Pudhari, as a part of social corporate responsibility contributed and raised funds immensely through appeal to the general public during the major natural disaster as and when it occurred. In 1997 as the Indian army battled the Pakistani forces in Kargil, Pudhari took upon itself the task of generating funds to support the war effort. Dr. Ganpatrao Govindrao Jadhav is the founder editor of the daily Pudhari. He started his journalistic career in Mumbai by joining weekly TEJ. He further worked for an evening daily and some other journals. He was also editing daily Kaiwari in Mumbai. He actively participated in the social and religious movements advocated by Satyashodhak Samaj an those undertaken by Mahatma Gandhi and Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar. While working as a journalist he worked with Keshavrao Jedhe, Dinkarrao Jawalkar, Prabodhankar K.S. Thakre, Mama Varerkar, Achyutrao Kolhatkar, Bhaskarrao Jadhav and other renowned social reformists of those days. Current editor of Pudhari is Pratap Singh Jadhav. The 1930s decade saw India's struggle for freedom and nationhood approaching its climax. It was an era of cataclysmic change.The year was 1937, the place, Kolhapur. Shri. G. G. Jadhav began publishing a weekly . The first issue of weekly was launched on 13 May 1937 and graduated to a daily on 1 January 1939 with an ear-catching name "Pudhari". The name inspired by the publication "The Leader" which was associated with the Late Motilal Nehru. It was the beginning of a dream, a revolution. Shri. G.G.Jadhav founder of Pudhari, pioneered the newspaper publishing industry in the region at the height of the Indian National Movement. Owing to the socio political milieu during its birth, Pudhari derives its core values and character of being Fearless, Nationalist, Progressive and Leadership from the Indian National Movement. Since its inception in 1937, the newspaper has whole heartedly and consistently supported and canvassed for programs of National interest. Mr. Pratapsinh G. Jadhav took over the management of Pudhari from his father in 1971. The newspaper that had started life as a proprietary concern was converted into a corporate entity. The name was amended to "Pudhari Publications Pvt. Ltd." and Shri. P. G. Jadhav took over as Managing Partner and Editor of the firm. He is responsible for the technological modernization of machines and processes that enabled Pudhari to grow rapidly.
