Quatretondeta : ウィキペディア英語版 | Quatretondeta
Quatretondeta (, Spanish: (:ˌkwatɾetonˈdeta)) is a municipality in the ''comarca'' of Comtat, Alicante, Valencian Country, Spain. Quatretondeta is a small mountain village located in the heart of the Mountains of Alicante surrounded by typical small olive terraces which circle the surrounding hills and climb the steep flanks of the Sierra Serrella Mountain. It has been described by Spanish writers as a place where “the time goes by on tiptoe”.( "el tiempo pasa de puntillas”.) Another great phrase by an English journalist sums it all up “50 kilometres and 50 years away from Benidorm”. The village of the prolific novelist Rafael Perez i Perez is characterised by the surrounding white limestone (mud stone) as well as the impressive geological setting that are the needles or friars of the Sierra Serrella. Known as the “Els Frares”. The charm of Quatretondeta and the rest of the valley is the tranquillity and serenity of the atmosphere which is only disturbed by the few vehicles on its roads. The tranquillity and beauty of the landscape is the delight any lover of peace and nature. The small River Seta crosses the through the village boundary in the valley bottom, whilst the village perches above, sheltered from the North and East surrounded by olive and almond clad hillocks and deep ravines cut into the limestone. Quatretondeta is the ideal starting point for exploring the Sierra Serrella and surrounding mountains. You can climb through and up the rock formations known as “Els Frares” or the Friars. These pinnacles are between 10 and 100 metres high and are caused by erosion. The Sierra Serrella has 3 different peaks, the Serrella at 1359 metres, the Pla de la Casa, the highest at 1379 metres and the Malla de Llop at 1360 metres. On a clear day you can see the surrounding mountain region, the Mediterranean and as far as the island of Ibiza.
