Qupa

Qupa (Quechua for the mineral turquoise and the turquoise color,〔Teofilo Laime Ajacopa, Diccionario Bilingüe Iskay simipi yuyayk'ancha, La Paz, 2007 (Quechua-Spanish dictionary)〕 hispanicized ''Copa'') is a mountain in the Andes of Peru whose summit reaches about above sea level. It is situated in the Ancash Region, Asunción Province, Chacas District, and in the Carhuaz Province, Marcará District, south-east of the mountain Wallqan.〔escale.minedu.gob.pe - UGEL map of the Asunción Province (Ancash Region)〕
The lake Alliqucha lies south-east of Qupa. South-west of the mountain there is a lake named Llikllaqucha.〔 The river Llikllamayu originates near the lake. It is a right tributary of the Santa River.
