Ramrai
Ramrai is a village in the Jind district of the state of Haryana, India. It is located on the Jind-Hansi road, west of Jind. Ramrai or Ramahrada is a traditional south-west Yaksha of the Kurukshetra region.〔 The Jat population of this village are mainly of the Dhull clan (gotra).
The village's name derives from "Ramahrada" (i.e. "Parashurama's pool").〔Trivedi, Shiva Dayal (ed.) (1989). (''Essays on Indology, Polity, and Administration in Honour of Padmabhushan Sh. R.K. Trivedi'' ), Volume 1, p. 220. Agam Kala Prakashan〕 According to myth, in order to appease his ancestors, Parashurama is said to have filled five pools there with the blood of the defeated Haihayas. Notable people from the village include Chaudhary Dal Singh, the first Irrigation and Power Minister of Haryana, and Parminder Singh Dhull, the MLA for the Julana constituency of the Haryana Legislative Assembly for term 2009-2014, and Amarjit Singh Dhull founder of IB School Rohtak, Ukindo international charity (www.ukindo.org), Arvinder Dhull (District Town Planner), Vision Fostering (UK) amongst others.
