Philippe Panneton (pseudonym Ringuet, which was his mother's maiden name) (April 30, 1895 – December 28, 1960) was a Canadian physician, academic, diplomat and writer.〔(Philippe Panneton ) at The Canadian Encyclopedia.〕 Born in Trois-Rivières, Quebec, he received a degree in medicine from Université Laval in 1920.〔 In 1935 he became a professor at the Université de Montréal. In 1944 he was a founding member of L’Académie canadienne-française (now known as the Académie des lettres du Québec) and served as its president from 1947 until 1953.
