Rometta (Sicilian: ''Ramietta'') is a ''comune'' (municipality) in the Province of Messina in the Italian region Sicily, located about east of Palermo and about west of Messina. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 6,458 and an area of .〔All demographics and other statistics: Italian statistical institute Istat.〕 The municipality of Rometta contains the ''frazioni'' (subdivisions, mainly villages and hamlets) Rometta Marea, Gimello, Santa Domenica, Rapano, San Cono, Sotto Castello, and S. Andrea.
