The area is part of the traditional region of Lower Carniola and is now included in the Southeast Slovenia Statistical Region.〔(Črnomelj municipal site )〕 The local church, built outside the village to the southeast, is dedicated to Saint George ((スロベニア語:sveti Jurij)) and belongs to the Parish of Črnomelj.
