Saliyamangalam is a village in the Papanasam taluk of Thanjavur district, Tamil Nadu, India. It is one of the two places in Tamil Nadu where the Bhagavathar Melas are held, the other being Melattur. Two km from Saliamangalam is a village called Thirubuvanam.In ancient days it was called as Vikrama Chola Vinnagaram.1000 years back there existed a Ranganathar Swamy temple in the lines of Srirangam.It was a big town with 80 streets. The huge temple of Lord Ranganathar was built by Kulothunga Vholan 111.(1178-1218).The temple is totally dilapidated with nothing remaining.The Moolavar deities are in a shed for over 150 years.Besides Lord Ranganathar and his concert there is also Lord Lakshmi Narasimhar,Lord Rama with Sita Devi and Lakshmanar,and Lord Balaji.With the help of HR&CE and asthigas and guidance of Santhanam Ramaswamy Kaingarya Sabha reconstruction of the temple started a couple of years back == Location ==
Saliyamangalam is located in the Ammapet block of Thanjavur district. It is situated 15 kilometres from the town of Thanjavur.
