Saquarema
Saquarema ((:ˌsakwɐˈɾẽmɐ)) is a municipality located in the Brazilian state of Rio de Janeiro. Its population is 74,234 (2010) and its area is 353,566 km².〔IBGE - ()〕 It is located almost 120 km east of Rio de Janeiro.〔Danny Palmerlee, ''South America on a Shoestring'' (Lonely Planet, 2007: ISBN 1-74104-443-X ), p. 300.〕 It was known as Brazil's surfing capital.
