Schilpario is a ''comune'' (municipality) in the Province of Bergamo in the Italian region of Lombardy, located about northeast of Milan and about northeast of Bergamo. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 1,294 and an area of .〔All demographics and other statistics: Italian statistical institute Istat.〕 The municipality of Schilpario contains the ''frazioni'' (subdivisions, mainly villages and hamlets) Ronco, Barzesto, and Pradella. Schilpario borders the following municipalities: Azzone, Borno, Cerveno, Lozio, Ossimo, Paisco Loveno, Teglio, Vilminore di Scalve. Schilaprio is named as a popular mountain tourist destination during summer and suring winter.
