It is located on the river Kinzig at the southwest of a hill called ''Landrücken'', approx. 30 km southwest of Fulda. ==History== The town evolved from a monastery founded in the 8th century, enlarged during the following centuries and closed down during the reformation. Since then the convent buildings hosted a public school. They were reconstructed - including the gothic church - during the 19th century.
