==Etymology==
The name "Seeyamangalam" might have evolved from the older name of this village "Simhavishnu Chathurvedhi mangalam" ((タミル語:சிம்ம விஷ்ணு சதுர்வேதிமங்கலம்)) named after the Pallava king, Simhavishnu, father of Mahendravarman.〔http://www.tamilartsacademy.com/journals/volume18/articles/article2.htm〕 Another possibility is that it might have derived from the name "Simhamangalam" ((タミル語:சிம்மமங்கலம்)) named after Pallava king Narasimhavarman I.〔http://puratattva.in/2010/11/03/seeyamangalam-avanibhajana-pallaveshvaram-cave-temple-31.html〕
