Sericin Sericin is a protein created by ''Bombyx mori'' (silkworms) in the production of silk. Silk emitted by the silkworm consists mainly of two proteins, sericin and fibroin; fibroin being the structural center of the silk, and sericin being the gum coating the fibres and allowing them to stick to each other. Silk sericin has been used for over 3500 years by the world elite to rejuvenate their hair and skin. The chemical composition of sericin is C30H40N10O16. ==References==
