Shadikhan, also known as Shadi Khan, is a village in the north-west of the Chach area (the land of 84 villages) in Punjab, Pakistan with a population of around 730. ==Description== The name Shadikhan is actually derived from the name of a great Pathan warrior named Khadi Khan. Khadi Khan was the Head of the Yousafzai tribe from Hund (a village across the river Indus from where Alexander the Great crossed). The village has schools for boys and girls from primary up to secondary level. The village has its own Union Council for government work along with a hospital and a bank. The village is fully sufficient with all utilities. It is one of the most developed villages in Attock district. The total population is around 730. The Indus River flows north of Shadikhan near the police post. Shadikhan also has a WAPDA office, a telephone exchange and a post office. There are also three established mosques. Over the last 45 years, various members of the National and Provincial Assembly for the area have been elected from Shadikhan. The representative of Chach in the Provincial Assembly of Punjab was Col (R) Shuja Khanzada until his death in August 2015. His predecessor was the late Taj Mohammad Khanzada. Col (R) Shuja Khanzada has continued to make significant efforts to develop the village and all the surrounding areas falling in his constituency, primarily in the education,Health, Sports and communication sectors.His biggest contribution is the 100 bed modern Hospital with free Dialysis Unit. He contested the 2008 general election as an independent candidate and secured a record number of votes. In the 2002 elections he contested as a PML(Q) candidate and won. He was a Provincial Minister in the Punjab Cabinet of Chief Minister, Chaudhury Pervaiz Elahi.He contested from PML N party in 2013 PP16 and won with thumping majority.He is widely respected as an honest and hard working MPA.He was Provincial Minister for Environment and Home Affairs. The people of Shadikhan are predominantly Pathans of the Yousafzai tribe. Most are now settled abroad, with the majority living in the United Kingdom. A number of persons from the village are also based within the USA, Hong Kong, Dubai and Saudi-Arabia.
