Shamozai is a union council, sub tehsil in Tehsil Barikot (District Swat, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan) and a group of villages known as ''Aalaqa'' (Area) Shamozai. Shamozai located on the right bank of Swat River bordering District Dir Lower, Malakand Agency and Tehsil Kabal of District Swat. Zarakhela is the largest village by population and area as well as commercial center of the area. Tribes living in shamozai includes, Yousafzai Pashtuns with numerous sub tribes like Bazezkhel, Pachakhel, Maryamkhel, Bibikhel, Akakhel ,Tajakhel , Pashtoon Yousafzai Mulakhel (Molan) , Meerahmadkhel, Baramkhel,Khankhel, Barkhankhel, Azizkhel, Behramkhel, Oryakhel, SultanKhel, Zariefkhel, Muhammadzai, Molan (basically Quraish ), Sheikhan, Pashtun syeds tribes like Peer Baba saidan (Migrated from Peer Baba Bunir ), Kakakhel Saidan (''Migrated from Ziarat Kakasahib Nowshehra'') and Miangan.There are aslo Khattak and Bangash Pashtoons living in Shamozai .
