Shincheonji Church of Jesus the Temple of the Tabernacle of the Testimony

Shincheonji, Church of Jesus, the Temple of the Tabernacle of the Testimony (SCJ), commonly known as Shincheonji (Korean: 신천지, Hanja 新天地, "new heaven and earth") is an organization accused of being a cult,〔http://www.koreatimes.co.kr/www/news/culture/2015/09/293_164816.html〕 established on March 14, 1984 in South Korea. According to its doctrine, the date signified the universe completing its first orbit and returning to its point of origin.
In 2012, Shincheonji had not reach 144,000 registered members yet. Individual churches within Shincheonji are organized into 12 "tribes", each named after the 12 apostles (Jesus's disciples) of the New Testament, mainly located throughout South Korea. The 12 tribes recorded in the book of Revelation 7. These tribes each have their own number of church buildings, and designated members. In addition, Shincheonji also has 300 overseas churches in 13 different nations, making a combined total of approximately 5,000 overseas registered members.
Shincheonji offers a free Bible course for those interested in church membership. This course concludes with a Bible content exam of 100 questions. Shincheonji holds several graduation ceremonies each year to welcome new members, and for those who have completed the Bible course by passing the exam. Each of these ceremonies recognizes an average of 800-5,000 newly registered members. In 1990, Shincheonji established a Bible school, where the Bible is taught free of charge. This school is called Zion Mission Center (ZMC).
== Etymology ==
The syllables of the Korean name 신천지, ''Shincheonji'', literally translate into "a new heaven and a new earth" according to (21:1-7 ) and (Peter 3:12-13 ). The name comes from the Korean pronunciation of the Chinese characters for ''Shin'' (新) New, ''Cheon'' (天) Heaven, ''Ji'' (地) Earth.〔(【引用サイトリンク】Shincheonji Introduce )
