Shottisham is a village and civil parish in the Suffolk Coastal District, in the county of Suffolk. Shottisham had 24 households which was quite large compared to other nearby village parishes, containing 1 smallholder and 15 free men. The population for Shottisham from 1801 and the 2011 census show there has been an increase from 161 to 197 people. In 1831 the statistics show that the vast majority of the population were employed as agricultural labourers, just over 60%. The second highest employment sector was Retail and Handicrafts, in which 28% of the population were employed. The Census data for 1881 shows still the majority of men were employed as agricultural labourers, around 66%.
