Shreyansanath was the eleventh Jain Tirthankar of the present age (Avasarpini).〔 p.31〕 According to Jain beliefs, he became a Siddha - a liberated soul which has destroyed all of its karma. Shreyansanath was born to King Vishnu Raja and Queen Vishnu Devi Rani at Simhapuri, near Sarnath in the Ikshvaku dynasty.
