Adya Rangacharya, (1904-Oct 17 1984) who often wrote under the pen name Shriranga, but whose birth name was R. V. Jagirdar 〔(1904–84), was born in Agarkhed, district Bijapur. He has his education at Bombay and London Universities. His writings made him a trend-setter among Kannada and Indian writers.
