Sičhą́ǧu
Sičhą́ǧu is the name of a North American indigenous tribe recognized by the United States federal government as the "Rosebud Sioux" tribe occupying the "Rosebud Sioux Indian Reservation" in South Dakota. The term "Sičhą́ǧu" appears on page 3-14 of Beginning Lakhota.〔Beginning Lakhota, Volume 1, published in 1976 by the University of Colorado Lakhota Project, University of Colorado, Boulder, Colorado 80309.〕
"Ká Lakȟóta kį líla hą́ske. 'That Indian (over yonder) is very tall.'"
"Hą, hé Sičhą́ǧú. 'Yes, that's a Rosebud Sioux.'"
It appears to be a compound word of the Thítȟųwą Lakȟóta dialect meaning "burned thigh." ==References==
