Solarolo is a ''comune'' (municipality) in the Province of Ravenna in the Italian region of Emilia-Romagna, located about southeast of Bologna and about west of Ravenna. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 4,256 and an area of .〔All demographics and other statistics: Italian statistical institute Istat.〕 Solarolo borders the following municipalities: Bagnara di Romagna, Castel Bolognese, Cotignola, Faenza, Imola. Laura Pausini was born and grew up in Solarolo. ==History== The area is inhabited since the Bronze Age. During the following centuries, the area of Solarolo changed several dominations, mainly by the families Manfredi, Borgia, Gonzaga, Este. During the 17th century, Solarolo became part of the Papal States and during the 19th century of the newborn Kingdom of Italy.
