(John Wiley and Sons, Hoboken NJ, 2004) ISBN 0-471-52229-5〕 ==Characteristics== Sordariaceae have dark, usually ostiolate ascomata, and unitunicate, cylindrical asci. Their ascospores are brown to black, often with a gelatinous sheath or with wall ornamentations, but lack gelatinous appendages.〔Kirk PM, Cannon PF, David JC, Stalpers JA, 2001.
