==History==

In mid 13th century, the original native inhabitants of Spychowo living on the banks of the Pupek lake (now, Spychowskie) came under the control of the Teutonic Order following the medieval conquest of Old Prussia.〔
The village renamed as Puppen was a favorite hunting post of Hermann Göring after the Nazi rise to power. Before 1945 the village was part of the East Prussia region, ruled by Germany. Until 1960 the Polish name of the village was ''Pupy''.
