Schizostachyum
''Schizostachyum'' is a tall or shrub-like tropical genus of bamboo.〔(Nees von Esenbeck, Christian Gottfried Daniel. 1829. Flora Brasiliensis seu Enumeratio Plantarum 2(1): 535 ) in Latin〕〔(Tropicos, ''Schizostachyum'' Nees )〕 They are natives mostly of tropical Asia and Papuasia, with a few species in Madagascar and on certain islands in the Pacific.〔〔(Flora of China Vol. 22 Page 50 岭南竹属 si lao zhu shu ''Schizostachyum'' Nees in Martius et al. )〕 A few have become naturalized in other tropical regions.〔(Soreng, R.
