It was founded in 1885 and became the centre of the New Paarl gold-field but was abandoned when the Witwatersrand gold-fields were discovered. At first called Painter's Camp, it was named Steynsburg in 1886, after Commandant J P Steyn of Lydenburg. The name was then altered to Steynsdorp to avoid confusion with Steynsburg in the Cape.〔(【引用サイトリンク】url=http://archive.org/details/DictionaryOfSouthernAfricanPlaceNames )〕 ==References== 抄文引用元・出典: フリー百科事典『 ウィキペディア(Wikipedia)』 ■ウィキペディアで「Steynsdorp」の詳細全文を読む スポンサード リンク
