Stitchwood
Stitchwood is an online portal for customized furniture headquartered in Mumbai, India. It was launched in March 2015. Touted as the ‘online alternative to your local carpenter’, it lets customers design their own furniture with an easy to use online customization interface. The furniture is then crafted and delivered at their doorstep. Stitchwood also offers a ‘ready catalogue’ of furniture that includes sofas, chairs & benches, wardrobes and beds, which can be customised to fit the users needs.
== History ==
Founded under the parent company of Tangramme Furnishing Solutions Pvt. Ltd., Stitchwood was started by Ajit Shegaonkar and Vikas Nair in January 2014. Ajit Shegaonkar, IITB and University of Illinois alumnus served as the Vice President at Deutsche Bank, Mumbai before joining hands with IITB and IIM-A alumnus Vikas Nair to start Stitchwood. Vikas previously served as the Chief Financial Officer at Steadview Capital.
Ajit struck upon this idea after his unpleasant experience with unprofessional carpenters and vendors while getting a customised wardrobe made. With Stitchwood, the duo hope to offer the customer a hassle-free experience by providing good quality customized furniture along with a great after sales service.
