Stopiče
Stopiče (; (ドイツ語:Stopitsch)〔''Leksikon občin kraljestev in dežel zastopanih v državnem zboru,'' vol. 6: ''Kranjsko''. 1906. Vienna: C. Kr. Dvorna in Državna Tiskarna, p. 162.〕) is a village in the foothills of the Gorjanci range in the Municipality of Novo Mesto in southeastern Slovenia. The area is part of the traditional region of Lower Carniola and is now included in the Southeast Slovenia Statistical Region.〔(Novo Mesto municipal site )〕 ==Name== The name ''Stopiče'', like related place names (e.g., ''Stopče'', ''Stope''), is probably derived from the Slovene common noun ''stopa'' 'stamp mill', used for hulling grain.〔Snoj, Marko. 2009. ''Etimološki slovar slovenskih zemljepisnih imen''. Ljubljana: Modrijan and Založba ZRC, p. 396.〕 In the past the German name was ''Stopitsch''.〔
