SuVi
SuVi is a California based Singer-Songwriter / Artist of Indian origin, who gained recognition after having sung on several projects, including tracks on movies such as Highway, Blue, Ghajini and Raavan for Grammy & Oscar winning composer, A. R. Rahman (Slumdog Millionaire, 127 Hours, Million Dollar Arm) . SuVi entered the Indian music industry as a teenager, through the first South Indian Pop Band, to be signed with Sony BMG called S5.S5 also gave rise to several other talented Indian artists such as Bhargavi Pillai, Anaitha Nair, Benny Dayal and Arjun Sasi. SuVi then became known as a Playback Singer for having lent her voice to several top Indian film actresses. She has sung in several Indian regional languages including Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kanada, Bengali, Oriya and Hindi. She has also worked with famous Indian Music Directors like Pravin Mani, Ouseppachan, Ilayaraja, Harris Jayaraj, Deepak Dev, and Yuvan Shankar Raja. ==Early Life and Family Background==
SuVi was born as Swetha Suresh on 26th September, 1987 in a small town called Thrissur in Kerala. She spent her childhood in the metropolitan city of Chennai where her father was working. Her father, Suresh Madhavan is a Hair Industry Consultant involved in the export of human hair from India to countries including United States and Africa her mother Anita Suresh is a homemaker. She has a younger sister, Swathi Suresh who is a student doing graduation in Visual Communication. SuVi did most of her schooling in Adarsh Vidyalaya in Chennai and a year of schooling in Chinmaya Vidyalaya in Kerala, while living with her grandparents. As a child she wanted to become a forensic scientist and hence took a Bachelor’s degree in Advanced Zoology and Biotechnology from Ethiraj College for Women in Chennai. During her college days, she discovered her passion in performing arts and auditioned for the reality show Fanta Voice Hunt among 6000 other participants. She won herself a contract with Sony, BMG and became a member of S5 the first ever Pop Music Band in South India. The music for the band was produced by music producer Pravin Mani, She considers him to have been her God father in the music industry for helping her discover her artistry and songwriting talent by taking her under his wing since the age of 18. She is the first member in her family to break into the music industry. She has an 8th grade in Western Classical Vocals from the Trinity School of Music in London under the vocal guidance of Augustine Paul. She also has an Associate Degree in Vocals from Musicians Institute under the vocal guidance of Masta in Los Angeles and a Certificate Degree in Songwriting and Logic Pro.
